Lions Club Calendars to arrive

The Willapa Harbor Lions Community Birthday Calendar is due to arrive from the printer this month. The calendar starts with the month of September. Nobody is sure why, but when the calendar project started 47 years ago, it probably had to do with the start of the school year.

The Lions have always sold and delivered the calendars. And most calendars will be delivered this year also. However, for those that live in and around Menlo and Lebam, they will be available at Sheila’s Café in LaBam and the Menlo Store in Menlo.

Many of you have bought your calendars over the years from a Lion. This year we ran short of Lions. Several passed away this past year, including Keith McDonald the chair of this project for many years. The Lions we lost had a list of customers that might not have been contacted. If you were one of those that were missed, you can still get your calendar. You can send a check for $7 to the Willapa Harbor Lions at P O Box 333, and you will get your calendar delivered. You will note a different look this year, the dates are an easier read color, some of the ads have added color and there are valuable coupons on the back of the calendar pages to be used each month.  And of course we urge you to patronize the advertisers as they make it possible to contribute many dollars back to the Community.
