Raymond stayed alive at the District IV Volleyball Tournament by defeating Rainier in four games in a loser-out match Saturday at Toutle Lake.
"Against Rainier we were able to pick up our passing and our outside hitters stepped it up big and started putting the ball away," Raymond HS Head Volleyball Coach Bob Swogger told the Herald. "The turning point was in the third set when we came from behind 18-22 to win 26-24. The fourth set we ended up winning 25 to 10."
In the opening round, RHS lost in three games against LaConner Saturday morning.
"La Conner is a good team that is consistently making the State tournament," Coach Swogger said. "We came out flat and didn't receive-serve well or attack the ball."
The Lady Seagulls play Wednesday versus Morton-White Pass in a winner to state, loser-out match.
"If we win we would play later in the night against Mossyrock or Northwest Christian to continue to play for anywhere from places three to eighth," Swogger added.
The Lady Seagulls are 12-5 on the season.
