Kenneth Verl Mullin, 81, passed away June 27, 2013 from congestive heart failure. He was born January 20, 1932 in Miller, Oregon to Forrest Dale and Beulah Virginia Mullin. He grew up in South Bend, Washington. He served in Korea from August 1952 to July 1954.
After returning from Korea, he attended the Colorado School of Trade in Denver Colorado, completing their gunsmithing program. He moved to Oregon in 1955. For a short time, he worked at GP, and then he went to work for the State Parks. He soon transferred to the Oregon Department of Transportation, where he continued to work until his retirement in1994.
In 1968, he met Ernestine Matteucci, a widow with four children. They were married in 1969 and made their home near Siletz, Oregon. Their family grew in 1971 with the arrival of twin girls. They had recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his wife and five daughters, Toni Stewart (Jack) of Curtin, Oregon, Cheri Delongfield (Randy) of Springdale, Washington, Nikki Esbenshade (Jerry) of Siletz, Oregon, Wendi Gunter (Steve) of Bovill, Idaho, and Wanda Hesse (Michael) of Siletz, Oregon; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Mullin of Toledo, Oregon, and two sisters, Lucille Kinsel of Springfield, Virginia and Betty Gray of Mt. Lake Terrace, Washington.
His parents; a brother, Fred Mullin; and a son, Charles Matteucci, preceded him in death.
