A little over a month ago, Keith Olson of Napavine High School was offered a full-ride scholarship at The University of Southern California. Keith's parents are Kurt and Mandie Olson from Napavine.

In November, Keith will be making the big decision to sign the letter of intent with the University of Southern California. Keith said that he "feels happy about the offer."

Mandie Olson, his mother, expressed her feelings about her son getting such a big offer. She says that she "is super proud" and is very excited to see what he does with this opportunity.

Mandie also expressed how happy she is for the opportunity offered to her son, even though he will be going to an out-of-state school. "I knew it was an option for a while," she said. She is very happy for her son.

Napavine is a small school, as of 2018, there were only about 400 students in the entire high school (grades 7-12) but USC had about 48,000 students in 2018.
What does Keith think about such a large jump from a small class size like Napavine, to such a large one like USC in Los Angeles. Keith said, "it would be worth the wait" and that he was excited to be somewhere bigger.

It's common for athletes to get pressured into staying close to home, playing for universities in Washington or Oregon. Keith said he didn't feel much pressure when he chose to play out-of-state.

Keith said that he was looking forward to getting a good degree and was excited to get to the changes in his life. He is going to tackle his career choices with a great attitude.

Many napavine supporters will be following Keith's progress, as he finishes his high school career and continues on to the University of Southern California.
