Jill is survived by longtime love, Glen Verber of Chicago who is now living in Raymond, three children, Richard (Kate) Peery, Ted (Kathy) Peery, Stephanie (Fred) Ertz, and four grandchildren, in order of birth, Brittany Teague Peery, Piper Ertz, T.J. Peery, and Jack Ertz, all of Texas.
Her parents, Harry and Doris Broadwell, of Long Beach, preceded Jill in death.
Donations in Jill's memory may be made to the Harbor Association of Volunteers for Animals.
To Jill,
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come
Let the airplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message She is Dead
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves
Let the traffic policeman wear black cotton gloves
She was my north my south my east my west
My working week and my Sunday best
My noon my midnight, my talk, my song
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to good.
¾ WH Auden
Love,
Glen
