The Ice Carving Contest sponsored by local businesses debuted for the first time in last year’s show. “We learned a lot from last year’s event, including how much fun everyone had watching the event, so we are bringing it back,” says show promoter Dennis Irby, President of Puget Sound Trade Shows.

Turning 300-pound blocks of specially prepared ice into sculptures of eagles and flags in celebration of Memorial Day is the work of minutes instead of hours. The chainsaws buzz and ice chips fly as the carvers race to complete a worthy sculpture. Prize money is at stake.

Our local sponsors for the Ice Carving Contest so far include: Playtime Family Fun (PlayLive-Go-Carts-Bumper Cars-Ice Cream and more); Bank of the Pacific (Ocean Shores Branch); Emeritus at Harbour Pointe Shores (Senior Living, Assisted Living, Short Stay and On-Site Rehabilitation); First Cabin (Glass, Jewelry, Fine Art and Nautical Gifts) and more local sponsors to come.

By visiting HYPERLINK "http://graysharborexpo.com/" http://graysharborexpo.com/ you can see more of the events and fun available including a Bracketstars Hot Rod show including “Valve Cover Racing” that needs to-be-seen-to-be-believed; the best of the Northwest Chainsaw Carving contest and Auctions; the Memorial Note Wall and Memorial Service by Veterans for Veterans; Shark Rides-Food-Fine Art all helping us to show off the products and services of the Home Show. We even have a “Bottoms-up” beer dispenser as part of our beer garden this year right in the Home Show portion of the show.

Levee Lumber who is highlighting their cabinet lines and pet feed products anchors the Home Show portion of the event. Many more local vendors will be available to talk to you about their products and services.

This is a great holiday weekend. We have plenty for kids of all ages while you concentrate on that next important home project, whether it is new lawn, a well-point, new appliances or even home décor. Come out and join us the 7th Annual Grays Harbor Expo in Ocean Shores, May 23 through 25.
