The Hoquiam Police Department is looking for young adults, between the ages of 16- to 20-years of age to join the Hoquiam Police Explorer Post.
Police Explorers learn about law enforcement first-hand through meetings, training and ride-alongs with police officers. Explorers also serve the department and community in a variety of ways while developing a greater understanding of the criminal justice system.
This is an exciting opportunity for youth to develop personal and vocational skills that will help them in the future whether or not they pursue a career in law enforcement or criminal justice.
Several of the current Hoquiam officers were Police Explorers before turning 21-years of age. Police Explorers are provided uniforms and equipment through the generous support from the Grays Harbor Community Foundation.
To find out more information and sign up for the testing process please contact Officer David Peterson by calling (360) 532-0892 extension 276 or send an email to dpeterson@cityofhoquiam.com by December 11, 2015.
Applications can also be obtained in the Hoquiam Police Department lobby.
