A Labor Day weekend DUI emphasis in Lewis County resulted in 85 contacts between law enforcement officers and citizens, including 20 infractions and 14 arrests, according to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.
The emphasis patrols occurred on Sept. 3. Participating agencies included the sheriff's office and the Chehalis and Toledo Police departments. Six officers were assigned to target intoxicated drivers.
In total, the emphasis operation resulted in 85 contacts, 46 verbal warnings, 20 infractions and 14 arrests, which included one for DUI, six people driving with a suspended license, one person with no valid operator's license, two minor in possession cases and four warrants.
