Farmers Insurance current agency owner Debra Wilson is retiring from the business effective Thursday, March 31.
"Farmers has been a storefront in Raymond since 1945, and happily that will continue," Wilson told the Herald.
Wilson has represented Farmers Insurance since 1990. She became the agency owner at the end of 2013. Wilson said she "has enjoyed working with her loyal customers for many years, and will miss them dearly.
"What I will miss most is the customers," Wilson added. "They have become more than customers to me; I consider them friends."
Taking over the business as agency owner on April 1 is Jennifer Mullen, who Wilson said "will be a great asset to this community and Farmers Insurance."
"Jennifer and her family have been part of this community for years," Wilson added. "She comes from a banking background and looks forward to continuing to serve our local community. Jennifer will have a grand opening on April 8th, and is planning to have a catered event, so please stop in on Friday, the 8th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to give her the welcome she deserves."
Also staying on with Mullen at Farmers Insurance are Allison McVey and Julie Graves, who are also licensed agents as well. "The transition has been a smooth one," Wilson said.
Wilson's last day in the office will actually be March 29th. The public is invited to stop by the office located at 325 Duryea St. in historic downtown Raymond to have cupcakes and coffee for her sendoff from 11:30-2:00 p.m.
Wilson, who has 32 years of experience in the insurance business, said during her retirement, she hopes to garden more, go on road trips and do some camping, and spend more time with her family.
