Law enforcement seeking help with burglary

Crime Stoppers of Lewis County and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office are seeking assistance in a theft investigation.

Between Nov. 1 and Nov. 3 suspect(s) entered a residence on the 500 block of Coal Creek Rd., Chehalis and the stole an Apple Mac Book Pro, Model #A1286, a Bulova men’s gold wrist watch, with diamonds set in the face for each hour, a Washburn acoustic electric guitar, black w/pearl inlays and hard case, and a gold-melting torch. The estimated loss is more than $4,350.

Centralia man rolls car on I-5 near Vader

Negligent driving had been blamed for a rollover collision near Vader Dec. 10, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Marco Ortiz-Garcia, 27, of Centralia, had been traveling southbound on I-5 near Milepost 58 when he lost control of his 2000 Dodge Neon and spun out, leaving the roadway and traveling down an embankment. Ortiz-Garcia was ejected from the vehicle as it began rolling, with the vehicle eventually coming to rest on top of him.

Ortiz-Garcia suffered unspecified injuries and his vehicle was considered a total loss. He was later cited for negligent driving, second degree, as it is believed speed played a role in the collision.

Ice road conditions cause Toledo wreck

A Toledo driver crashed due to icy conditions on the roadway Dec. 11, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of a 1992 Toyota 4Runner had been traveling on the 400 block of Classe Rd., east of Toledo, when she lots control of the vehicle, causing a rollover collision. The vehicle was considered a total loss, though no serious injuries to the driver were described in the report.

Toledo suspect crashes during high speed chase

A Toledo woman has been arrested after attempting to elude deputies near Winlock Thursday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Amanda N. Phillips, 24, had been traveling on the 800 block of N. Military Rd., east of Winlock, when deputies attempted a traffic stop and the suspect fled away. Phillips was pursued south on N. Military Rd., with speeds reaching as much as 100 mph, according to the report. In the 300 block, she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the ditch, suffering few injuries but totaling her car.

Phillips was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for attempting to elude, driving with license suspended, third degree, and outstanding warrants.
