PrintToledo woman booked for outstanding warrants
A Toledo woman featured twice so far in Lewis County’s Most Wanted was picked up by deputies May 25 at a local truck stop, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Michelle L. Price, 31, was contacted in the parking lot of Gee Cee’s after deputies received a report of individuals in a car possibly using drugs. When asked to identify herself, Price gave the name Sarah Meyer, but the deputy stated he was familiar with Meyer and knew Price was not being truthful. She was subsequently identified as Price and arrested for an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a charge of assault, fourth degree/domestic violence.
Predatory dog shot in Evaline
A vicious dog was shot near Evaline Friday after reportedly killing a neighbor’s chickens, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
The 47-year-old owner of the chickens had contacted deputies May 21 to report his neighbor’s German Shepherd had repeatedly entered his yard on the 300 block of Hale Rd. West to attack the poultry and, on Friday, was found with a chicken in its mouth. The victim then shot the animal with a .22 rifle, at which point it fled back to its owner’s yard.
Deputies contacted the owner, a 50-year-old Winlock man, who told them the dog had been hit in the shoulder and was expected to survive. The owner was then cited for allowing his dog to wander off of his property.
Those dealing with problem animals should remember, though it can be legal to shoot them, it is not always legal to discharge a firearm if you live within city limits or if doing so may harm neighboring persons or property. The public is advised to contact authorities before attempting to neutralize such animals.

Investigators are seeking help to identify the suspect in a hit-and-run collision that look place near Centralia May 24, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
On that day, a Ford Ranger with a white canopy heading west on the 2200 block of Seminary Hill Rd. struck an oncoming 1997 Mitsubishi driven by a 17-year-old female victim, causing minor damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle. While the victim was reportedly uninjured, the suspect is still being sought and those with information are encouraged to contact authorities.
Libraries out $1,300 in DVDs
Chehalis police reported May 29 they are seeking a suspect responsible for the presumed theft of dozens of movies from the Timberland Regional Library District.
Authorities believe someone has been checking out movies under a third party’s library card and have not been returning them. The estimated loss to the district so far is $1,300. Those with information are encouraged to contact the Chehalis Police Department at (360) 748-8605.
