Legion holding Christmas dinner
American Legion Post 101 of Winlock will be hosting its annual Christmas dinner potluck at the Olequa Senior Center in Winlock beginning at 6 pm on Friday, Dec. 12. The post will provide turkey and beverages.
Following dinner will be our Annual Bingo Fundraiser to benefit hospitalized veterans at the VA hospital. Bingo fun begins at 7 p.m. Cards will be sold at the door for a flat rate of $5 each and may be played all evening until ALL prizes are won! This event is open to the public. Come one, come all to support our hospitalized military veterans.

Plants focus of Clean Up the Coop Saturday
Volunteers with Clean Up the Coop are asking for residents who can help plant a number of trees and shrubs around town this Saturday.
The group has acquired a grant from BNSF to purchase the plants, which will be placed along Front St. by the railroad track. Problem trees are also going to be felled, and those able to help with this project are encouraged to do so.
Volunteers are asked to meet at Lions Park Plaza on Kerron St. at 10 a.m. and work is expected to go through noon. For more information, call (360) 785-0178.
Castle Rock ready for Festival of Lights
Castle Rock is getting ready to celebrate their annual Festival of Lights on Saturday, and all area residents are invited to participate.
