Community Gospel Concert
The Chehalis Seventh-day Adventist Church will be hosting a Community Gospel Concert Saturday starting at 6 p.m.

Provided in a concert setting, this family event will feature talent of all ages and from churches throughout the community. Audience participation is also welcomed and encouraged.

Castle Rock Library book sale
Friends of the Castle Rock Library will be hosting a book sale Thursday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 22, from noon to 5 p.m.

Located in the back room of the library at 137 Cowlitz Street W., all are welcome to attend. Hardback books will be $0.50, paperback books will be $0.25 and children’s books will be $0.10.

Pilot program operating at Transfer Station
The Lewis County Central Transfer Station is now offering the recycling of suitable building mater at 1411 South Tower Ave. in Centralia.

Available Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the ReUse Center is now accepting usable building material and other household fixtures to offer for free to other residents.

The program is expected to operate through the end of June, at which time organizers will gauge participation and the quality of materials donated (materials may be refused at the discretion of center attendants) and then determine if the service will become a full-time fixture of the Transfer Station.

Winlock Historical Museum
The Winlock Historical Museum is open Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m. in Downtown Winlock across from City Hall.

Be sure to visit and learn more about the background of this historic town and see which long-time residents are still local and active today.

Conceal-carry licenses by appointment only
Beginning Friday, Feb. 1, The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office will implement an appointment system for processing Concealed Pistol License applications.

Appointments will be available for scheduling Monday through Friday from 10a.m. to 3 p.m. (2:30p.m. being the last appointment). Walk-ins will be accommodated as the situation allows, however scheduled appointments will take priority.
