Chef Marla Nelson, a residence of Winlock prepares gourmet meals at the Olequa Senior Center twice a month since September 2018 Chef Marla has been a Chef for over 40 years and she continues to do so for the residents of the area.
On December 20, Chef Marla will be making Christmas Dinner for the community at the Olequa Senior Center beginning at 5:15 p.m., with doors opening at 4:30 pm. Chef Marla stated "it will be an informal sit down dinner, come in your overalls, come in whatever you want, we want to come together as a community."
Chef Marla will be serving, chicken piccata, Israeli couscous, vegetable medley, green salad with breadstick and for dessert she will be making a Yule Log. A Yule log is a chocolate rolled cake with Bavarian cream filling. If you have not tasted a Yule Log, you are missing out.
Chef Marla has worked at 5 senior type assisted living and continual care facilities in King County. She has also worked at four golf course restaurants along with sack lunch in Seattle who serve homeless residents.
She enjoys working with seniors and also volunteers at the Rowdy Rooster bistro on Wednesdays. .
This is an opportunity to come together as a community, the price is $10 for 55 years old and older, $15 for under 55 years younger and $6 for those under the age of 12.
