A number of local ceremonies have been schedule for Memorial Day later this month, with both veterans and residents invited to attend.
Organized by American Legion Post 101 and VFW Post 3409, based in Winlock, the ceremonies are scheduled to take place throughout May 25, and include the following locations:
9:30 a.m. - Napavine Cemetery
10 a.m. - St. Urban Cemetery
10:30 a.m. - Vader Catholic Cemetery
11 a.m. - Little Falls Cemetery
Noon - Winlock Cemetery
A Potluck lunch will be served for volunteers and veterans after the noon ceremony at the Veterans Clubhouse in Winlock (575 Nevil Rd.).
1 p.m. - Dedication of Ed Leonard Memorial, at clubhouse flagpole. (Leonard had been a Winlock native who passed away last Veterans Day and had served during the Vietnam War. The memorial has been part of an Eagle Scout project for Aaron Bratina, of Boy Scout Troop 324.)
2 p.m. - St. Frances Cemetery
2:30 p.m. - Lone Hill Cemetery
3 p.m. - Toledo Cemetery
