Lewis County law enforcement at Adna Store that just added a burger bar.
On Saturday May 15, the community came out in numbers to support "Back the Blue" along with "Coffee with a Cop," but this time it was burgers as well. Lewis County Sheriff's Department, Napavine Police Department, Centralia Police Department and Washington State Patrol were all on hand talking with the community.
The event included the grand opening of the Adna Store's new burger bar, the "Back the Blue '' and more like a "Burger and coffee with a cop." Attending a rally for our officers is an honor in Lewis County, our officers have always done a great job in protecting and standing up for the citizens of this great county. It truly was an event where people were being supportive, this is the true community many of us were raised in and know.
Sheriff Rob Snaza was on hand as were several of the local Deputies. He stated, "What a great turnout from our community supporting all our Law Enforcement in Lewis County. A special thanks to Jim and Cindy for being such gracious hosts. And a shout out to Pat Murphy, Chris Guenther and the gang for the entertainment. I really enjoyed seeing and talking to the community. We are so blessed to live in a county where our law enforcement is truly supported and appreciated."
There were many there, we wanted to know what they felt of the event, here are their comments.
Jacqueline Lester (Adna) said, "I am here today because the best job I had was when I worked for law enforcement. I worked for the prosecutor's office in New Jersey for nine years and the Frederick, Maryland PD for 10 years. I feel sad for our law enforcement, I think they are getting a raw deal."
Patrick Trice said, "I am here to support our officers and the Adna Store and to teach my kids that officers are not bad people, they are here to help them."
Tashe Cole and Sheena Woods shared that they are law enforcement wives and are grateful for the community support.
Anthony Mixer, member of the Lewis County Young Republicans said "I am here to support the officers and have fun. We haven't been able to do this since King Inslee shut us down."
Rachael Anderson, Lewis County Young Republicans Chair said, "I am here today to support police officers in light of what the media portrays them as. They are good people who have our well being in mind."
Diane Christin (Napavine) said, "She brought her grandkids out for a day of fun and to show support for the community."
This truly was a day of support for our local law enforcement. You can tell they are appreciated and the respect they received after a tough year was heartwarming. It was great to see such a big turnout for everyone who puts their lives on the line for us on a daily basis.
