Winlock School District Superintendent sat down and wrote a great explanation as to the levies on the ballot. It reads as follows:
On February 8, 2022 we have an Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy and a Capital Levy on the ballot. These are replacement levy's and not new taxes.
The Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy provides funding for programs that are not provided for at the state and federal level. Our children and teachers rely on this local funding for athletic programs, band, choir, early childhood learning, certain elective classes, technology, security, additional transportation and more. This levy also contributes to improved safety, technology, special education staffing, and enhanced learning resources for English Language Arts, Special Education, Math, Science, Music, and Social Studies.
The Willapa Harbor Chamber of Commerce was delighted to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on January 13 for K2 Fitness in Raymond.
K2 Fitness, owned by Matt and Chelsea Kempton, officially opened their doors on October 25 of 2021. They offer health and fitness classes for members of all ages and fitness levels. They also offer personal training through Brenden Greenfield. The coaches provide skilled and proper training to all their members and approach exercise and fitness as a lifestyle. They don't focus on fancy workouts - just the basics that are proven to challenge and improve an individual's daily living activities.
