Gov. Jay Inslee updated proclamation 20-83 regarding quarantine requirements for air travel. Inslee also released new proclamations related to winter weather and the COVID-19 pandemic.
COVID-19- Restrictions on Travelers
Amends Proclamation 20-83, which required air passengers to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival from countries in which COVID-19 variants were detected. The amended order requires all air passengers to comply with the requirements ordered by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention when traveling from outside the U.S. to Washington. The CDC currently requires all such air passengers to obtain a negative viral COVID test within 3 days of travel or to present proof of recovery from COVID-19. For other types of travel, the Governor's travel advisory remains in place. This proclamation will remain in effect through the state of emergency established in Proclamation 20-05.
COVID-19 - Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council (EFSEC) Informational Public Hearings
This proclamation allows EFSEC to remotely conduct its required informational public hearings regarding new energy project siting proposals, under RCW 80.50.090(1). Though allowing for remote informational public hearings, the order requires EFSEC to provide robust public participation options so that the public may observe the hearing in real time and offer public comment. This order goes into effect March 12, 2021, and expires on April 11, 2021, unless further extended.
Winlock is about to change, many of us are aware that Winlock is getting an industrial park, but did you know there is more than that coming to our community.
Recently at a meeting Mayor Brandon Svenson stated there were 500 new homes and apartments in the planning stages. What that means is that 500 new residences are going to be built in the city limits. We have all seen Grand Prairie explode with more homes coming. The space across from the Shell Station is reserved for apartments. There are to be 10 different buildings with 4 apartments in each.
With an increase of residences will come an increase of the population. Many have wanted Winlock to stay the same size, but we all knew growth from the Seattle and Portland area would eventually come to our area.
Winlock has been celebrating Egg Day (once known as Poultry & Egg Day) since 1921. For our 100th Egg Day Anniversary, we are inviting all ages of our Egg Day community to create artwork that depicts Egg Day and what it means to you. Not only will the submitted artwork be used as this year's collectible button, but also as multi-media advertising for our Egg Day celebration. Please incorporate WINLOCK EGG DAY, JUNE 19TH, and 100TH ANNIVERSARY or 1921 to 2021 in the artwork.
On the BACK of the artwork please include the artist's name, age (not mandatory), and contact info. (phone, e-mail, or mailing address). Do not put any of this information on the front of the artwork.
A devastatingly intense fire completely destroyed a house located at 435 Weaver Avenue in Raymond causing a family of five to completely relocate early Thursday morning. There were no injuries, perhaps because a 14-year-old living there was awake when the fire started.
Sarah Martin, who lived in the residence with her husband, two daughters and her brother, lost virtually all of their possessions, are now looking for a place to live.
In the last two South Bend City Council meetings, the city has a few projects that have updates in the works.
Reflectors
During the February 8 meeting, Craig Spredeman from South Bend noticed that the fence around Mary Rogers Pioneer Park was hard to see during dark gloomy weather near dusk. "Going to the post office in the evenings particularly during inclement weather with the new fencing around the park it might be nice to have some reflective tape or reflectors on the corners of those black fence posts," he said.
Mayor Julie Struck let Spredeman know that she had noticed as well and that a fix was being worked on.
