Inslee wary of pending ACA lawsuit amid Supreme Court nomination

Through mid-afternoon Sunday, a total of 530 coronavirus were confirmed in Washington, bringing the total number of diagnoses to 98,201, including 2,239 deaths, according to the state Department of Health. At least 8,018 people have been hospitalized in the state due to the virus. The state no longer reports deaths on weekends. Saturday, state health officials confirmed 777 new COVID-19 cases. State health officials confirmed 709 new COVID-19 cases in Washington on Friday afternoon.

What's at Stake

While the U.S. Senate conducts hearings on the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett, the lawsuit deciding the fate of Affordable Care Act (California v. Texas) will be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court in less than a month, which puts the future of the law and the health care of millions in peril.

Possible COVID exposure at Willapa Valley Fall Sip and Shop Tour

The Pacific County Public Health and Human Services has announced that people who attended the Willapa Valley Fall Sip and Shop Tour on Saturday, October 10, have potentially been exposed to COVID. Someone with a probable case attended the event and was confirmed positive at a later date.

Since this was a public event and close contacts are not known, the department of health has issued a public notice. If you attended this event and feel that you have been exposed, it is recommended that you quarantine yourself for 14 days, monitor yourself for symptoms of COVID-19, and get tested if you develop symptoms.

Three drive-thru Drug Take Back collection sites in Pacific County

SOUTH BEND - On Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. community members can bring their expired, unused, and unwanted medications for disposal to Pioneer Grocery in South Bend, Shoalwater Bay Police Department in Tokeland, or Shop n' Kart (formally Sid's) in Seaview. To keep everyone safe, collection sites will be drive-thru style so people don't have to leave their cars. This service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is locally supported by the following organizations: Long Beach Police Department, South Bend Police Department, Raymond Police Department, Shoalwater Bay Police Department, Pacific County Sheriff's Office, Pacific County Health & Human Services, Teen Advocacy Coalition, Road 2 Resiliency, WellSpring Community Network, Willapa Behavioral Health, and Shoalwater Bay Behavioral Health. Prescription Drug Take Back Days are held throughout the United States during October and April.
