The Toledo High School Bond levy passed. Toledo will be getting a new high school with the passing of the bond at 72.66% approval and 27.34% rejecting it. Castle Rock School district improvement bond failed with 65.06% rejecting it and only 34.94% approving it.
The Lewis County Home Charter rule failed with a 55.04% voting no and 44.96% voting yes, therefore there will be no freeholders representing different districts.
Toledo High School football team is off to State Quarter Finals on Saturday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. against Tri-Cities Prep in Pasco, Washington.
Toledo played Reardan High School on Saturday, November 10, 2018. Toledo Indians came out to play and play they did. During the first half, Ethan Buck had a 16 yard run with Andreas Malunat with the kick. Then the 28 yard pass late in the first half to Coleby Cherrington eventually led to the 9 yard run by Duke Schaplow that sent Toledo to the locker room at halftime 14-3 lead with the kick by Malunat.
The Nathan Oster Family fundraiser will be held this weekend, November 17, at Donna's Place in Toledo. Nathan was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident. The fundraiser will begin at 8:00 p.m. with music by D.C. Malone and the Jones. Tickets are on sale now for $20, dinner will be served from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a limited menu during the show. Voter turnout across Washington state reached record numbers in 2018. The Pacific turnout alone reached 73.75% with 10,859 of the 14,724 registered voters casting in their ballots. Many voters were still dropping their ballots off at the post office, ballot boxes, and auditors office just seconds before voting closed. Most of the incumbents inside the county have won their reelection bids.
South Bend HS senior Jessica Sanchez and Ocosta HS senior Kaylee Barnum were named co-Most Valuable Players for the Pacfic League by a vote of the league's coaches. Ocosta head coach Barb Rasmus was awarded as the Coach of the Year after directing the Wildcats to an undefeated league championship.
Sparks flew at the November 5, Raymond City Council Meeting when the council addressed reports of a rental rate increase for Willapa Harbor Business Week that's held at the Raymond Theatre. It was reportedly raised from $500 to $2000 this year and implemented by the new Theatre Manager Diane Ziel.
