The 54th anniversary of the Threshing and Gas Show is this coming weekend and what an event it is. If you have never been to the event, it's truly a great time. They have many events, booths and many more things happening at the Herren Farm in Toledo.
The evening starts with the Tractor Parade at 7:00 p.m. Friday night, the official opening of a great weekend to come. They will also offer a potato bar in the field from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. for $8 per person.
The Grange is a family, community organization with its roots in agriculture. Founded in 1867, the Grange was formed as a national organization with a local focus. With this understanding at one time, Winlock had three local granges and they were all active. Now, Winlock has one grange, Hope Grange and they are doing their part to help the community in many different ways.

The air quality in Willapa Harbor quickly diminished from Monday, August 13 into Tuesday, August 14 with the air quality index reaching 163 thanks to pesky smoke coming down from Canada. The scale goes from 0-500 with 0 being the best air quality and 500 being the worst.
Thursday, August 16 the Raymond Police Department was dispatched to a report of a boat off a trailer at the intersection of Commercial St. and US 101.
According to Officer Micah Ristow's scene report a gray Chevrolet truck was hauling a boat on a trailer turning at the intersection. The driver reportedly drove up and over the curve while attempting to turn onto US 101 from Commercial St. and the jolt dislodged the boat from the trailer in the rear and was still attached to the front of the trailer by its wench and safety chain.
The Pacific County Sheriff's Office responded to residence in the 1000 block of Pine Street in Grayland to a report of suspicious person at a well known residence to the sheriff's office.
