Frasier says she, "puts people ahead of party line votes"

Erin Frasier is the Democratic candidate for the position of representative for District 19, Position 1 for Pacific, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Wahkiakum, and Cowlitz counties. Republican incumbent Jim Walsh is running against Frasier for the two-year term in the August 7 primary election. The voting begins July 20.

July 9 at approximately 1:53 p.m. Raymond Fire Department, South Bend Fire Department, and Washington State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident on US 101 at Giles Lane. One person was transported to Willapa Harbor Hospital by Raymond Fire. Their condition and/or injuries is unknown.

Lemay to take over South Bend garbage

The City of South Bend is in the process of having Lemay take over the garbage service in South Bend. A final proposal from Lemay is expected prior to the July 23 council meeting with the council and mayor expected to review in time for the meeting.

Lemay will pay full price for the city's recently purchased automated garbage truck that is valued at around $211,000. The city was able to secure a loan and a USDA grant of $67,000 to purchase the truck earlier this year. The city will be able to pay off the remaining balance of the loan left on the truck.

Raymond officer resigns

Raymond Police Officer Sean Jarvis has resigned in lieu of termination after being on paid leave for the past several months due to an internal and external investigation into accusations of misconduct and violation of department codes.

Word quickly spread around the community of scandal in connection with several allegations of Misconduct and Conduct Unbecoming of a Police Officer against Jarvis. "The bulk of the allegations against him have been rumors," Raymond Police Chief Chuck Spoor stated. "Not much of the claims were found to be very accurate and only one accusation was found to be truthful."
