In celebration of Hoquiam 125th anniversary, the Polson Museum and 7th Street Theatre are presenting "Hoquiam in the 1890s" on Friday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m.
The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month marked the signing of the armistice to end the Great War, or what would later be known as WW1, in 1918. One year later, President Wilson declared the day Armistice Day, and soldiers of the war were celebrated-those who had survived marched in hometown parades and were honored with speeches by local and national politicians. In 1938, Armistice Day was voted a national holiday, and then in 1971 became Veterans Day, honoring veterans of all wars, under President Nixon.
The Aberdeen Police responded to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision at 6:43pm on Tuesday, October 27. The collision was reported to take place around the 1000 block of Macfarlane Street. The officers were advised that the vehicle had fled the scene, but were provided the license plate of the fleeing vehicle by a witness to the incident.
Members of the Joint Narcotics Task Force (JNET) arrested a female and seized multiple firearms, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and improvised explosive devices from a residence in the Tacoma area on Tuesday, October 20th, at approximately 1330 hours.
The folks who live over on the east side of Ryderwood report they can once again hear the water flowing in Campbell Creek. The recent rains have raised and muddied the waters in area creeks, rivers and streams. While the rain is desperately needed, I'd rather have it fall a bit slower so that it can better soak into this hard clay soil.

The final home game had finally come for the Winlock Cardinals Girl's soccer team. Facing the Cardinals on their senior night was the Toledo Indians. After recognizing the two senior players from Winlock and Winlock's Cross Country Senior, the Indians and Cardinals faced off for the game of the night.

On the spooky night of Halloween, kids of all ages gathered at a small church in Vader. The Vader Assembly of God church offers a night every year for kids to come for candy and fun. The church offers this night of alternative fun to provide safety for the kids of the town and other surrounding areas.

Veterans Day is coming and this is the time I like to remind everyone how blessed we are to have our freedom. Our veterans, many who have sacrificed their lives give us the right to say whatever it is we want about the country. This is definitely one of the greatest nations to live in, even though we have had our challenges these past few years we are a great country.
For the Winlock Council Meeting of October 26, the meeting was to have a public hearing for the Property Tax Revenues. Taking a recess from the Council Meeting, the full attendance of Council Members moved swiftly into the hearing.
