Willapa Harbor Fest growing in success
The community turned out in big numbers for the Willapa Harbor Festival Parade. Some estimated as many as 4,000 people attended, one of the largest crowds the town has seen for a parade.

The community of Raymond was treated this past weekend with the annual Willapa Harbor Festival.


Residents were entertained with a parade, live music, plenty of food and drink as well as a softball tournament and a mud run.

The 17th annual Aberdeen Art Walk and Rod Fest was held on July 24 and 25 with plenty to show the community. Outside of the cars lining the downtown streets of Aberdeen hosted by the Midnight Cruizers, vendors and art of all kinds entertained the community and travelers who happened through the event.

Reach and Rise formulating in Grays Harbor

Starting in 1992 at a YMCA in San Francisco, California, the Reach and Rise program is coming to Grays Harbor.


After its humble start the program has now grown into 38 states and continues to expand. Sy Vanissaveth, Reach and Rise Program Director, is currently building the program for Grays Harbor County and is seeking mentors to be matched with youths ranging from ages 6 -17.

John Adolphsen and Tracy Brumfield are starting to make a splash in the Harbor with A.P.S. their aerial photography service that will provide a different view of things from the skies above.

Six Rivers Gallery, Double Take

The Six Rivers Gallery in Hoquiam will be offering a special exhibit called "Double Take".


"Our upcoming 'Double Take' show is a good place for you to begin to get familiar with our artists," said Jenny Fisher, "for this show artists are pairing up to produce collaborative pieces of art. For example a writer and a painter can be both producing pieces on a common theme, or a photographer and a graphic artist are depicting the same scene."

Aberdeen Police Officers Investigate Injury Collision

On July 27 at about 3:43 pm, officers from the Aberdeen Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision at the intersection of Oak Street and Simpson Avenue Officers were further informed that the pedestrian had been in a motorized wheelchair which was currently still under the vehicle.
