SOUTH BEND - The Pacific County Commissioners started their regular meeting (June 23) with an announcement: "As we begin the next meeting, I have an important announcement to make," said County Commissioner Steve Rogers. "It seems that we have among us the Washington State Association of City Engineers Rural County Engineer of the Year. That would be Mr. Mike Collins."
SOUTH BEND - At the South Bend City Council Meeting Monday night at city hall it took the council a little over 45 minutes to take care of municipal business. With a fully attended council, members ran through the first reading of the cities sign ordinance, approved previous minutes and consent agenda, and heard from department heads on the latest developments in the city.
SOUTH BEND - On Tuesday, June 16, a Planning Commission meeting was held at the South Bend City Hall pertaining to the recent sign ordinances that have been in question since multiple businesses in South Bend were served cease and desist orders.
With burn bans starting to appear, local residents are advised to take extreme caution with outdoor activities the coming Fourth of July weekend.
