Corrections:

In the May 6 issue of Town Crier, a photo caption in the sports report should have read, "Winlock third baseman Jake Anderson (right) tags out a Mossyrock runner who tried to advance a little too far."

In the April 29 issue of Town Crier, in a report describing a contribution from the Evelyn Miller Trust Fund to City Hall, the amount of the contribution should have been described as $23,000, with Mayor Lonnie Dowell clarifying the funding needed by the city ended up being $2,000 less than previously anticipated.

Winlock News 05.13.15

It is that time of year again when all the parents and students are getting ready for the 2015 Winlock High School Senior class Baccalaureate, Senior Recognition and Graduation ceremonies. For those of us who have a family member graduating this year, it is hard to believe that it is already that time where they will go off to college or work. I can remember when this class was in grade school and I was invited to have lunch with my niece. I had the opportunity to meet many in her class and I spent most of the lunch just laughing at how silly they were. Please join the students and family as the senior class has their Baccalaureate, Senior Recognition and Graduation ceremonies. This year Baccalaureate will be on June 3 at 6 p.m. at the Winlock Lutheran Church. Following Baccalaureate is the Senior Recognition, which will be at the Winlock Middle School gym. Graduation will be on June 6 at noon at the Middle School gym. Congratulations to the class of 2015, we are excited for your future!!

Dear Cardinal Parents, Alumni, and Community

It is my honor and privilege to serve as your new Head Boys' Basketball Coach. I am so grateful and excited for the opportunity to have an impact on your sons, school and community! I will be working with your sons to not only build the Winlock Basketball Program, but to help prepare them for life after basketball.

Over the course of the next few weeks I hope to get to know everyone involved with Winlock Boys' Basketball. I wanted to tell you how impressed I have been so far with your School, Administration, Faculty --and most importantly the boys!

Medic One Funding

Medic One has been fighting budgeting issues for several years now. Medic One provides ALS (advanced life support) for south Lewis county and responds to 911 calls for assistance on ALS. The fire districts have Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) that support BLS (basic life support) calls.

I've been an EMT in district #2 for three years - and the bickering within the interlocal has been going on for that entire period of time. I believe it's time to stop the infighting and truly provide services to the tax payers.
