With the start of a New Year this issue of the Willapa Harbor Herald falls on the final days of 2014. So many things have happened during the past year that the staff took time to come up with the Ten most popular stories of the past news year.
Some of the news items had many entries like the growth of the Marijuana Industry, which made the list at No. 1, but will be a compilation of several of the news items that brought marijuana onto the front page. The list also includes a couple of sports items, a contribution to the community and a cross of civic items about our community leaders.
I often make obvious statements, so see no need to stop now. It's the end of the year.
Residents should be advised that recent reports from within the community notes of a van soliciting the sale of vacuum cleaners is coming through neighborhoods in Pacific County.

Lumbermen deny business revival
Tacoma, December 31- The following statement, signed by all the prominent millmen of the city, decrying the fact that certain newspapers of the city should have sent out broadcast unfounded accounts of a stimulation in the local mill business, was made today.
"Such glowing accounts of a supposed revival in the lumber business have recently appeared in some newspapers that it seems to us timely to correct any false impressions of the true conditions."
