New Principal at Raymond Elementary
There's a new principal at Raymond Elementary school, and he's got big plans for the students. Hailing from Aberdeen, Chris Cady was a fifth grade teacher at the Hoquiam Elementary school, and then at the Cosmopolis Elementary school. At Cosmopolis Elementary, Cady was assigned a new position, the "Technology Specialist and School Improvement Coordinator."

Announced last week in the Willapa Harbor Herald, Mayor Bob Jungar made official his resignation from the position of Mayor of Raymond effective October 15.
The Winlock School District has reported a four percent decrease in enrollment, according to early figures, though such a decline had been anticipated by officials and is reflected in their current budget.
Superintendent Shannon Criss has reported 636 full-time equivalent (FTE) students were in attendance as of September, compared to 661 FTE the same time last year (though such figures had been 17 FTE greater than projected for the 2013-2014 school year).
