PE ELL - A fire broke out on Weyerhaeuser property in the Fork Peak hills outside of Pe Ell last Thursday. The cause of the fire is still undetermined, but is, "Looking more like it was a human caused fire," said Information Officer Nick Droquist. As of Monday, the fire covered 117 acres and was 50 percent contained.
The Kiwanis Club of Raymond, chartered in 1925, will celebrate its history Friday, Sept. 19, before closing for good at the end of the month.
I would have to say that I was a little disappointed when I went out my door this past weekend.

Host North Beach shut out South Bend 54-0 Friday night at Oyehut. The Hyaks amassed 305 yards with their lethal running attack. Cameron Keller accounted for 183 yards on just 10 carries.
South Bend opened the volleyball season with a 3-game defeat at the hands of usually highly-regarded Wahiakum last Thursday at Cathlamet. The Mules won the match 25-15, 25-21, 25-17. Over the weekend, the Tribe took second place at a tournament at Mossyrock.
A Toledo man has been arrested again on multiple charges related to the alleged molestation of a young relative, according to the Lewis County Prosecutor's Office.
Michael S. Oullette, 53, was arrested Thursday after the 15-year-old female victim had contacted her 21-year-old sister on Facebook and described inappropriate contact Oullette had forced on her during the last year involving the suspect repeatedly fondling her breasts while making such alleged statements as, "If you are uncomfortable with this I won't do it," and telling the victim her body was "kinda hard to resist," according to court documents.
