My mom, Karen Camenzind, and I posed with the 160 foot tall Roman aqueduct, Pont du Gard in June 2012. The aqueduct supplied water to the city of Nimes in southern France during Roman times.

HAVA Shelter and Pet Food Bank closed for August

The Harbor Association of Volunteers for Animals (HAVA) will be closing Harry's House Cat Shelter for the month of August because of a sudden influx of kittens and cats during the month of July; many with upper respiratory infections. The shelter is overflowing and so are the foster homes HAVA uses for special cases.

Pilots Association Meets

First Wednesday Monthly

The Willapa Harbor Pilots Association (WHPA) meets the first Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. The group welcomes new members to its meetings. For location of the next meeting call 942-7899.

American Legion Potluck

The American Legion Raymond Post # 150 meets the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 7 p.m. A potluck dinner, beginning at 6:15 p.m. precedes the first meeting. The legion auxiliary also meets at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month.
