SOUTH BEND - At the County Commissioner’s meeting last Tuesday, June 10, the Board of Commissioners swiftly approved the consent agenda, which included the May 2014 payroll of $744.909.21 for 192 employees and the approval of an amendment to the Prison Rape Elimination Act.

Pacific County to amend Shoreline Master Plan

Pacific County has begun a three-year process of updating the Shoreline Master Plan (SMP). The plan, created in the 1970s for Pacific County, was last amended in 2003 and new state guidelines require it be updated by 2016. The county received a $478,260 grant from the state to complete the update.

South Bend hopes to get sewer line replaced

SOUTH BEND - A public hearing was held at the South Bend City Council meeting last Monday, June 9, in regards to the Central Street sewer line replacement. The Council hopes to receive a Community Development Block Grant to fund the project.
