SOUTH BEND – Now tagged as the best place in town to have a “Brew with a View”, the Elixir Espresso shop is under new ownership.
Nancy Nisbet of South Bend. took ownership of the Elixir Espresso and Tea Shop in November 2013. And with only a few months in, Nisbet is looking at adding just one more thing to her menu of items that the shop is offering.
Clam diggers can return to coastal beaches Tuesday (Jan. 28) through Sunday (Feb. 2) to dig razor clams during the last of three openings this month.

Originally from Memphis, Tenn., Paul Philpot is no stranger to economic development. With a Master's Degree from Southern Mississippi, the recently arrived Philpot is taking his time looking at the current situation of Pacific County before he makes any direct program changes.
Philpot sat down with the Herald to answer many questions about his role as director of the Pacific County Economic Development Council, and the philosophy and function of the EDC.
Raymond HS senior Hunter Borden took a technical fall (17-1) over Jason Haury of Tumwater in the 182-pound final. Borden was named the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler and Tumwater was awarded the Team Sportsmanship award. The action took place Saturday at the Willapa Harbor Wrestling Tournament, won by the host team.

Willapa Valley claimed a tie for first place with a rousing 55-43 victory over North Beach Saturday night at rockin' Tenoski Gym in Menlo. Stephen Camenzind pierced the nets for 24 points on 8 of 11 shooting, and he snatched 14 rebounds.
NASELLE - The Pacific County Historical Society will hold its annual meeting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 9, at the Naselle-Grays River Valley High School at 793 State Route 4.
Dragon Daze Kids at the Library
Local kids took the afternoon to learn about dragons at the Raymond Timberland Library. The event called Dragon Daze is one of the monthly youth events offered by the library. It was a great learning experience that was also a fun time.
