Stephen Cyril Chilla, 86, a longtime Raymond resident, died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond. Steve was born June 28, 1927 in Pe Ell, Wash. to Frank Albert and R. Elsie (Michek) Chilla.

This couple Kevin Brown and Karan Browne stopped in Raymond last Tuesday (Nov. 5). They are from England and left their home in 2010 and are doing an around the world trip. They have been to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and then arrived in Vancouver BC a few weeks ago and then went to Alaska for a while and now are on their way down the coast and will end their journey in South America. They think they will be back home in about six months. They are living off savings. They stopped in our town because they loved all the statues and thought they were neat.

Canadian performer Diane Lines will present “JUMP!”, a celebration of forgotten music, to the stage in Raymond Sunday, Nov. 17. The Sunday Afternoon Live performance begins at 2 p.m. at the historic Raymond Theatre, 323 Third St. Tickets are $12 in advance at Sagen's, South Bend Pharmacy and at the theater, or $15 at the door.

This is the last weekend to see the Willapa Players play, “Death by Design,” by Rob Urbinati! The play continues at the Hannan Playhouse, 518 Eighth St., in Raymond, this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Walter Pearce, the conservative politician (played by Dave Lund), while attempting to seduce Sorel Bennett (played by Linda Anderson), whispers tenderly in her ear. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for seniors (over 65) and students (up through college); they are available at South Bend Pharmacy, Everyone’s Video and More, and at the door.
