Writing letters to the editor and attending extra meetings is time-consuming. With 106 acres of cranberries and four employees to manage, I’m busy enough. But, after reviewing what our PUD has been doing over the past 10 years, it makes me ask a lot of questions that don’t have satisfactory answers.

Former Winlock pastor facing multiple rape charges

A former Winlock youth pastor has been accused of raping one of his previous students and is expected to be arraigned on four charges of second-degree child rape this Thursday.

Michael D. Whitson, 51, currently of Vancouver, appeared in court Sept. 24 for a preliminary appearance where he was informed of his arraignment date and released on $25,000 bond.

The class of 1958 held their 55th reunion August 24th at Tombstone Willies. Those attending were Front from left Don Schrotberger, Joe Kaech, Dick Burkhalter, Gary Schrotberger, Marjorie (Hutchinson) Hudziak, Carol Anne (Kuttel) Franks, and Mark Nissell.
