Dear Savvy Senior,
Can you write a column educating patients on how to prepare for doctors appointments? I manage a number of small health clinics, and have found that patients – especially seniors – that come prepared when they visit our doctors are much more satisfied with the care they receive. General Manager and father of besieged Jason Dunsmoor, P.U.D. engineer currently under “investigation” for damages to a man-lift through allegedly improper usage, has not only chosen to get into the kitchen (through his recent letter to the editor) – but has jumped in with both feet, put an apron on, and asked Ron Craig and Dick Sheldon, “What’s your pleasure?”

ELMA – For race fans and teams looking for something to do this Saturday July 27th they can partake in the annual Elma Auto Racing Hall of Fame Reunion and Spaghetti Feed. This event will be held during the Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals weekend and all proceeds will go towards the organization.

The Labor Day Committee will be hosting a BBQ cook-off on Saturday, August 31. Contestants will be grilling meats selected by the committee and a panel of judges as well as a peoples choice system will choose winners.

Quilts, vendors and even sewing machine repair will be available at this year’s annual Willapa Harbor Quilters’ annual show. The event takes place Aug. 2-3 at Raymond High School. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Entry is free and open to the public.
The Willapa Valley Grange #527 will be holding a community event entitled Family Square Dance & Game Night at the Grange. The fun takes place at the Grange Hall, located at 290 Camp One Road in Raymond on Saturday, August 10.
