Mid-summer heat can be as uncomfortable for plants as it is for people. In addition to garden and landscape plants gasping for water, some vegetable crops have trouble producing when under heat stress.

I am traveling out of state as I write this. I’m looking forward to the coming week, but have left friends and loved ones at home. While I am trying to focus on the work ahead of me, my thoughts keep wandering back to Willapa Harbor.
