Pacific County Health and Human Services received notice of five more positive cases of COVID-19 in Pacific County on Monday, August 10. Three individuals are connected to social clubs in south county. One is a family member of a previously identified individual. The fifth case is connected with recent travel to another state. This case developed symptoms while out of state and has now returned to Pacific County. One of these cases is currently hospitalized and four are convalescing at home.
On Tuesday, August 11, four additional positive cases were reported. All four individuals are connected to previously disclosed positive cases and are isolating at home.
On Friday, August 14, another positive case was reported. This individual was connected to a previously disclosed positive case and is isolating at home.
Saturday, August 15, two other positive cases were reported. One of the individuals travelled out of state and became ill. The other individual is a close contact of a previously disclosed case. One individual is under 18 years of age, and the other is between 20-30 years old.
These positive cases are in addition to the 46 previously reported cases for a total of 58 cases.
Pacific County Health and Human Services strongly encourages the public to limit non-essential travel, maintain social distancing of at least six feet between persons, and practice personal protective measures to include: correctly wearing a mask/face covering in public, washing hands often with soapy water for at least 20 seconds, and avoid touching your face.
