Wesleyan Church in Raymond drew the winning ticket on their Canoe raffle and the winner is Chuck Tjernberg of Aberdeen.

The Redwood Strip Canoe was donated by Richard Pasko of Raymond to help raise money for a new sanctuary carpet. Pasko spent two years building this canoe in 1984 and refurbished it in 2005.

Tjernberg was excited to hear that he was the winner. He owns the Furford Cranberry Museum in Grayland and will be displaying the canoe there. Pasko and Larry Roughton delivered the canoe to the museum at 3305 State Route 105.

New Beginnings thanks all those who bought and sold tickets and worked to get the word out about the raffle. Also a huge thank you to Pasko for his generous donation that enabled New Beginnings to replace the old, worn out carpet in the sanctuary that had been there for 50 years.
