After 10 years of employment with the City of Aberdeen, Kathryn Skolrood has given notice of her resignation as the City Finance Director effective April 25, 2016. Skolrood has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer for the Grays Harbor PUD.
Prior to working for the City of Aberdeen, Skolrood worked for Grays Harbor County Public Health Department and the City of Hoquiam. A third generation Harborite, she has over 28 years of finance experience.
Mayor Larson said, "Kathryn is leaving some big shoes to fill, but I understand the terrific opportunity the PUD position presents and I wish her the very best in the next phase of her career."
The City of Aberdeen will be moving as quickly as possible to select a replacement for Kathryn. In the meantime, current Finance staff will assume the duties of the Finance Director. The City's Finance Director is responsible for the financial management of the City and serves as the City Clerk and Risk Manager.
