Colton Harris Moore, who gained international notoriety as the "Barefoot Bandit" was released from Stafford Creek Corrections Center in Aberdeen, Wash., on Sept. 28.
He is slated to work for his attorney, John Henry Browne, while living in a King County work-release facility.
Now age 25, Moore was sentenced in 2011 on charges related to a slew of residential burglaries and vehicle thefts, including thefts of several small aircraft, which he committed as a teenager. He was eventually apprehended in the Bahamas following an international manhunt.
In one memorable instance from his crime spree, which extended across a number of U.S. states and Canada, Moore left a note and $100 at a Raymond veterinary clinic asking staff to use the money to care for animals.
Moore gained his moniker after footprint evidence was left at a crime scene at an Idaho airport hangar.
He was raised on Camano Island, Wash., and has created a blog at tidalsocata.com with entries explaining why he stole airplanes and voicing admiration for presidential candidate Donald Trump.
